"I am deeply committed to providing gentle and holistic reproductive healthcare throughout all stages of life. Every day as a midwife offers new opportunities for building relationships that promote optimal wellness for my patients and their growing families. I am so lucky that I get to support soon-to-be parents through labor and I’m passionate about helping clients labor with or without pain medications depending on what they find most empowering.  I am also enthusiastic about helping people find the best birth control options for them, supporting the breastfeeding relationship, and providing respectful care during annual wellness exams."

Elina Koumjian’s interest in midwifery blossomed as a teenager after she read a book full of birth stories. After earning her Bachelor degree from Marlboro College and her Master of Science in Nursing with a Nurse-Midwifery specialty from Seattle University, Elina spent time in the US territory of Saipan, fulfilling both nursing and midwifery roles in a low resource hospital setting.  In Saipan, Elina gained an incredible amount of experience in reproductive healthcare before she returned to the United States, where she practiced midwifery in the Tacoma Washington area before returning to New England.

Elina has a full range of experiences in midwifery care, including labor and birth support and management, waterbirth, vaginal birth after C-section, CenteringPregnancy facilitation, gynecology, breastfeeding facilitation and preventative healthcare.  Over the years Elina has developed a clinical interest in evidence-based botanical and complementary medicine, group prenatal care, and facilitating empowering childbirth.  Elina has an intermediate understanding of the Russian language.

Outside of midwifery, Elina enjoys spending time with her husband and rambunctious toddler and trying to fill her life with friends, bonfires, music, food, crafts and new experiences.
