Aliza Rosenstein, CNM joined Baystate Ob/Gyn Group, Inc. as a Certified Nurse Midwife in 2019. Aliza earned her undergraduate degree from Brown University, and then came to midwifery after several years working with food and on farms. She remains passionate about nutrition and inspiring others to cultivate their own good health and resiliency through making small lifestyle changes. After she fell in love with birth work as a doula, Aliza went on to Yale School of Nursing where she earned her certificate in Nursing as well as her Master of Science in Nursing degree (Midwifery and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Specialty) and became a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society. While at Yale, Aliza taught workshops at the on-campus farm and honed her skills in compassionate patient-centered care as a nurse at a non-profit women’s health organization. Working closely with patients and their families, Aliza strives to provide care that embodies the core of midwifery.
"My favorite part of being a midwife is getting to bear witness to the incredible strength and resilience of women. I aim to empower my patients to make decisions about their bodies and help them become confident healthcare consumers who can weigh the latest evidence to make the right choices for themselves and their families."
Aliza balances her work in reproductive healthcare with other things that she loves including spending time outside (ask Aliza about her trip down the Colorado River!), farmers’ markets, propagating houseplants, and lacto-fermentation.
