H1N1 & Seasonal Flu
Our practice has prepared this webpage as a resource especially for our pregnant patients as they fall into a "high risk" category for contracting the flu and for developing complications from the flu.
Seasonal flu vaccine
Our practice recommends the flu vaccine for pregnant women. Please contact your primary care physician or a flu vaccine clinic for your flu shot. (H1N1 is now included with the seasonal vaccine.)
Thimerosal
According to the website for the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG), "ACOG supports the recommendations and findings of the federal Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, which found that there is no evidence showing that thimerosal is a danger to the health of the pregnant woman or her fetus."
