“With my background in education and career choice of nurse midwifery, I have a fundamental belief that every person deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and make healthy decisions. Each woman deserves to be heard and listened to. Through my work I hope to make connections with my patients, and to empower them to take an active role in their health and well being.”
Suzanne earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Boston College where she minored in history and women’s studies. Five years later, she completed her Associate Degree in Nursing at Castleton State College and in 2004 she earned her Master of Science degree in Nursing (Midwifery) from Yale University where she served as a guest lecturer in Ob/Gyn for three years. Suzanne’s experience has ranged from a community health clinic setting to private practice. She has served all segments of the population and feels honored to help women from all walks of life, treating each woman with the dignity and respect she deserves.
Suzanne’s passion for nurse midwifery shines through in her distinctions. In 2009, Suzanne earned the Excellence in Teaching Award from the American College of Nurse Midwives Foundation – nominees for this award are selected by current midwifery students. Suzanne has served as member, speaker, and held a position on the board of directors for Mother Woman, Inc., an organization that offers postpartum depression support groups, facilitator training and political action. Suzanne continually seeks opportunities and experiences that will further enrich her practice of nurse midwifery in the Ob/Gyn setting. She feels honored to be a part of the midwifery practice.
Suzanne is an avid gardener and yoga practitioner. She enjoys travel, cooking and most days she can be found spending time in the yard with her beautiful wife and adorable young son.
