Visitor Restrictions at Baystate Health
Visitor restrictions are now in place at all Baystate Health hospitals for the safety of patients, visitors, and employees during the height of the flu season, which is now the highest in Western Massachusetts in the past three years. Only two healthy visitors over the age of 14 will be allowed to visit until the restrictions are lifted (typically in the spring). This is especially significant for our pregnant patients, who are reminded that each laboring or postpartum patient can only have two visitors at a time and visitors under age 14 (including siblings of the newborn) will not be able to visit until further notice. Please be sure to communicate this policy with your potential guests! In addition, please encourage your visitors to assess their own health before visiting, and to wash their hands before entering and after leaving the hospital room. We hope you and your family remain healthy!
