How much does it cost?

Considering the alternative of cosmetic surgery, laser treatments are designed to be an affordable option with fantastic results.  The factors used in determining treatment cost are highly variable from patient to patient.  While some laser treatments may require only one session, other treatments such as tattoo removal and hair removal may require multiple treatments over time.  Additionally, cost is associated with the severity of the problem, and the number (or size) of the area(s) being treated.  Due to the number of variables involved, we prefer to speak with you prior to estimating your treatment cost.  Please keep in mind that there may discounts for multiple services.  More information on discounts or specials that we may be offering can be attained by calling our office.

How can I pay for laser services?

Laser treatments are cosmetic in nature.  We do not submit the charges to your insurance company for reimbursement but rather we require payment in full from you at the time of your treatment.  Payment plans for treatment are not available at this time.  We accept cash, check, and credit cards as a form of payment.

How long does it take?

The length of each treatment session will be determined by a number of factors; however, the following estimates can be used as a general guide.  Please keep in mind that multiple treatment sessions may be necessary, depending on the service you desire.  Your laser clinician will be able to give you a more accurate estimate when you speak to her about the services:

bullet

Laser Facial™: 30 – 45 minutes

bullet

Leg veins: Most sessions are about 30 minutes,
although some can last as little as 15 minutes or
as long as 45 minutes.

bullet

Facial veins, broken capillaries & rosacea:
15 – 30 minutes

bullet

Brown spots or “age” spots: 15 minutes

bullet

Tattoos: 15 – 30 minutes

bullet

Skin tightening: 30 – 45 minutes

bullet

Hair removal: On face, 15 minutes; on body,
30 minutes

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments you require will be determined by your laser clinician during your consult visit or first treatment session.  The following will give you a general idea of the average number of treatments necessary for each service.

bullet

Laser Facial™: 3 – 4 treatments

bullet

Leg veins: 2 – 3 treatments

bullet

Facial veins, broken capillaries & rosacea:
1 – 2 treatments

bullet

Brown spots (“Age spots”): 1 treatment for most
lesions

bullet

Tattoos: 6 – 10 treatments for professionally
inked tattoos

bullet

Skin tightening: 3 – 4 treatments

bullet

Hair removal: 5 – 6 treatments

Is it painful?

It is important to remember that pain perception is different from individual to individual.  Your clinician may recommend or require topical anesthesia for some services, while no anesthesia is necessary for other services.  You will have an opportunity to discuss topical anesthesia with your laser clinician prior to treatment, and she will help you determine if topical anesthesia is necessary based on the service desired and the area being treated.

How will my skin react to the treatment?

It is important to keep in mind that in order to attain your long term goals with your skin through laser treatments, you may experience some short-term reactions to the treatment.  Depending on the service received, the type of laser used, and your skin’s individual reaction to the treatment, you may or may not experience side effects that can include redness, discoloration, and swelling (other reactions may also be experienced).  Usually post-treatment symptoms subside within days or even hours if they are experienced at all.  Considering the number of variables that determines your reaction to the treatment, you should discuss any concerns about what you can expect during the post-treatment period with your laser clinician.

When would I see the results?

Laser treatments are result-oriented.  Prior to treatment, you will have the opportunity to discuss your expectations for results with your laser clinician.  In general, the following results can be expected:

bullet

Laser Facial: Skin feels smoother and less oily one
week following first treatment.  Visible sun damage
is decreased by 30% one month after the first
treatment.  Full results are achieved 90 days
following treatment.

bullet

Leg veins: Most veins will disappear immediately
during treatment session.  Some veins may take up
to 8 weeks to disappear, or some may require a
second treatment for full results.

bullet

Facial veins, broken capillaries & rosacea: Most
veins and broken capillaries will disappear by four
weeks following treatment.  Rosacea is more
“stubborn,” although it will fade considerably with
every treatment.

bullet

Brown spots (“age spots”): Most thin brown spots
disappear after 5 – 7 days, although some thicker
spots may require a second treatment for full results.

bullet

Tattoos: Results will vary depending on the color of
the tattoo and the age of the tattoo.  Most tattoos
don’t completely disappear even after multiple
treatments, although substantial fading may be
achieved.

bullet

Skin tightening: Skin feels tightened one week
following treatment.  By the second treatment, the
lift around jowls and other areas is notable.

bullet

Hair removal: Hair count and density are reduced with
each treatment.  A dark hair/light skin combination
will achieve the best results.  Gray or blonde hair
does not respond to treatment.

Do I have to be a patient of BOGG to receive laser services?

No, you do not have to be a patient of BOGG to receive laser services.  In fact, men can also be seen for laser treatments in our practice.

I'd like to schedule an appointment for laser services...who do I contact?

You can contact our office to schedule your laser appointments.  Depending on the type of service you desire, a laser consultation (free of charge) may be recommended.

I have additional questions about Laser before I schedule any appointment for treatment…who do I contact?

If you have additional questions about laser treatments, you can contact our practice Monday – Thursday 8 – 5 pm and Friday 7:30 – 4:00pm to speak to our Laser Treatment Program coordinator.  She will be happy to answer any questions you may have about treatment.  Free laser consultations are also available prior to treatment to answer any questions you may have.  Consult appointments are especially helpful if you have specific questions about the treatment that can be answered only after our clinician sees the targeted area.
