Michelle Mills, CNM has navigated through her education and formal training with great focus on seeking diverse experiences that have shaped her career in women’s health, both in New England and beyond. Shortly after completing her secondary education, Michelle earned her Midwife Assistant Certification and went on to complete Licensed Practical Nurse Training in the Cape Cod area. Applying those skills, Michelle worked as a visiting nurse, apprentice midwife, and doula in Massachusetts and Vermont. Michelle went on to become a Registered Nurse, an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), and complete a Bachelor of Science in Maternal Child Health. After working in Maternal Fetal Medicine and as a lactation consultant, Michelle earned her Master of Science in Midwifery from Thomas Jefferson University and her Certificate in Nurse-Midwifery from Baystate Midwifery Education Program.
Shortly before Michelle joined Baystate Ob/Gyn Group in 2019, she traveled with another midwife for a month in Ghana to help develop an education exchange with Ghanaian midwives. She remains interested in developing relationships with midwives globally. Michelle is an active member in a midwifery research and writing group, has co-authored published articles, and is currently continuing her education in sexual wellness.

Outside of midwifery, Michelle enjoys making chocolate and exploring local mountains and trails.
