Mammography is used as a screening and diagnostic test that uses radiology to provide images of breast tissue. Breast ultrasonography may be used as an additional testing method. Resulting images are used to detect and diagnose any abnormalities and determine the need for further testing or treatment. We refer our patients to Radiology and Imaging with locations around the pioneer valley or the Breast and Wellness Center at Baystate Health. For an in-depth discussion of breast imaging, visit UpToDate.
