HIV/AIDS Awareness Day
March 10, 2011 is National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, marking a nationwide observance to raise awareness of the impact of HIV/AIDS on women and girls and encourage them to get tested.
Coordinated by the Office on Women’s Health (OWH) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, this day helps to offer support, encourage discussion, and teach women and girls about prevention of HIV, the importance of getting tested for HIV, and how to live with and manage HIV/AIDS. With nearly 280,000 women in the United States affected by HIV/AIDS (CDC), we encourage all women to know their HIV status.
Please contact our office if you would like to coordinate testing!
