CenteringPregnancy Site Approval Achievement

In recognition of achieving remarkable quality, sustainability milestones, and for meeting the high standards set forth by the Centering Healthcare Institute (CHI) in Boston, MA, CHI recently renewed the CenteringPregnancy® site approval for Baystate Ob/Gyn Group, Inc.  Integrated into the practice in 2009, the Centering model of care is a popular option for patients seeking an innovative, effective group model of prenatal care that supports long term health and wellness.  

Centering is an evidence-based model of group care that combines health assessment, interactive learning and community building to deliver positive health outcomes and an exceptional care experience for patients and their providers.  CenteringPregnancy brings together 8-12 pregnant women who are due around the same time for most of their prenatal visits - each of the nine Centering visits is two hours long.  Patients receive their pregnancy care and, as part of a cohesive group, patients form a supportive community where they develop skills and confidence to manage their pregnancy, labor, delivery, infancy, and beyond, all in the context of their family environment.  A recent Centering patient commented, “It was helpful to hear answers to other women's questions during group visits; they often asked things I didn't think to ask.  It was nice to connect to others going through similar experiences."
